Description
Help children understand angles in a clear, visual, and hands-on way with this Angles of Geometry learning set. Designed to make geometry concepts easier to grasp, children can explore different types of angles including acute, right, and obtuse angles through tactile learning. This interactive approach builds strong spatial awareness, problem-solving skills, and foundational geometry understanding. Perfect for homeschool learning, classroom math centres, and Montessori-inspired environments.
Commonly used from Grade 4 to Grade 5 (Ages 9 to 10+) but adaptable depending on learning level
What’s included:
-Angles Board
-8 Definition Discs
-Angles Pieces: (6 x 30°), (2 x 45°), (3 x 60°), (2 x 90°), (1 x 180°), (1 x 270°)

How to Play
How to Play
1. Meet the Circle
Start with the empty circular board. Explain that a "Full Angle" is a complete rotation that equals 360°. This board is the container for all the smaller angles you will discover.
2. Building the Whole (The "Add-Up" Method)
Try to fill the board by placing different angles together:
The Right Angle: Place a 90° piece in the board. Notice it takes up exactly one quarter of the circle.
Stacking Up: Can you make another 90° area using two 45° pieces? Or a 60° and a 30° piece? Pair this group with the Complementary Angles disc, which explains that a pair of angles added together equals 90°.
The Straight Line: See how adding pieces until they reach the halfway point (the 180° mark) creates a perfectly flat "Straight Angle". Pair this with the Supplementary Angles disc to show that any two pieces making that flat line are "Supplementary".
3. The "Fill the Gap" Game
Place the 270° piece in the board (or any other smaller angle). Ask your child to find which single piece (or combination of pieces) fits into the remaining empty space to complete the 360° circle.
4. Comparing the "Wedges"
Lay the pieces on the table to see how they grow in size:
Acute Angles: These are the smaller, "sharp" wedges like 30° or 45°.
Obtuse Angles: These are wider pieces, like a 60° and a 90° piece held together to show something larger than a right angle.
Reflex Angles: Use the massive 270° piece to show what happens when an angle "bends back" on itself.
Learning Activities for Parents and Teachers
Angle Hunt: Use the Angle Tray and angle wedges to explain real-world objects. Show how a 90° wedge looks like the corner of a square or a room.
The "Angle Match" Challenge (Group by Type):
Lay out the Definition Discs (Acute, Right, Obtuse, etc.).
Pick a wedge, like the 45° piece, and find its matching disc: "Acute Angle”
Group all wedges (30°, 45°, 60°) under to the Acute disc to see how they all share that trait. Repeat this for the other Definition disks.
